摘要： Since the SPD actually received in each of the elections about one-third more votes than the maximum possible number of working class votes, he was able to conclude that a minimum of one-fourth of the SPD vote had to be 'bürgerlich' (not from the working class). The election of 1930 was the first election in which the Nazi party broke through to be a leading national party. In an analysis that almost exactly prefigured later work like [16]Political Man, Stephan calculated that the Catholic Center Party would hold its supporters against the Nazis, that a bloc of socialist parties would lose only a few voters, and that the non-socialist, Protestant parties would not totally disappear, though they were likely to be decimated. Women outnumbered men (61%) among Zentrum (Center) Party voters, and outnumbered men by smaller amounts in all other parties but the Social Democrats and Wirtschafts parties (where the two were equal) and the Communists and Nazis (where men were 55% and 57% of the vote, respectively). 摘要： Ask Jenny Ramseyer for career advice and she says, "Try everything. Figure out what you like in STEM and try to do that. You don't always get to do what you love. But if you keep your eye out for any cool opportunities, you can find something that will appeal to your interests and that you will enjoy more than you thought you would." Simply put, follow your passions, even if they appear to present narrow career opportunities, such as Ramseyer's interest in the mathematics of origami. 摘要： Smartphones have diffused rapidly across South African society and constitute the most dominant information and communication technologies in everyday use. That being so, it is important to ensure that all South Africans know how to secure their smart devices. Doing so requires a high level of security awareness and knowledge. As yet, there is no formal curriculum addressing cyber security in South African schools. Indeed, it seems to be left to universities to teach cyber security principles, and they currently only do this when students take computing-related courses. The outcome of this approach is that only a very small percentage of South Africans, i.e. those who take computing courses at university, are made aware of cyber security risks and know how to take precautions. In this paper we found that, because this group is overwhelmingly male, this educational strategy disproportionately leaves young South African women vulnerable to cyber-attacks. We thus contend that cyber security ought to be taught as children learn the essential "3 Rs"-delivering requisite skills at University level does not adequately prepare young South Africans for a world where cyber security is an essential skill. Starting to provide awareness and knowledge at primary school, and embedding it across the curriculum would, in addition to ensuring that people have the skills when they need them, also remove the current gender imbalance in cyber security awareness.

摘要： Computer programming is an essential skill in the 21st century and new policies and frameworks aim at preparing students for computer science-related professions. Today, the development of new interfaces and block-programming languages facilitates the teaching of coding and computational thinking starting in kindergarten. However, as new programming languages that are developmentally appropriate emerge, there is a need to explicitly conceptualize pedagogical approaches for teaching computer science in the early years that embrace the maturational stages of children by inviting play and discovery, socialization, and creativity. Thus, it is not enough to copy models developed for older children, which mostly grew out of traditional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines and instructional practices. This paper describes a pedagogical approach for early childhood computer science called "Coding as Another Language" (CAL), as well as six coding stages, or learning trajectories, that young children go through when exposed to CAL curriculum. CAL is grounded on the principle that learning to program involves learning how to use a new language (a symbolic system of representation) for communicative and expressive functions. This paper proposes that, due to the critical foundational role of language and literacy in the early years, the teaching of computer science can be augmented by models of literacy instruction. CAL supports young children in transitioning through different six coding stages. Case studies of young children using either the KIBO robot or the ScratchJr app will be used to characterize each coding stage and to illustrate the instructional practices of CAL curriculum.

摘要： The supervisory control of probabilistic discrete event systems (PDESs) is investigated under the assumptions that the supervisory controller (supervisor) is probabilistic and has a partial observation. The notions of probabilistic controllability and observability are proposed and demonstrated to be necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the probabilistic P-supervisors. Moreover, the polynomial verification algorithms for probabilistic controllability and observability are put forward, respectively. In addition, the infimal probabilistic controllable and observable superlanguage for an unachievable specification is calculated as the solution of the optimal control problem of PDESs. Several examples are presented to illustrate the results obtained.

摘要： We describe the group projects undertaken by first year undergraduate Computer Science students at Coventry University. These are integrative course projects: designed to bring together the topics from the various modules students take, to apply them as a coherent whole. They follow an activity-led approach, with students given a loose brief and a lot of freedom in how to develop their *** outline the new regulations at Coventry University which eases the use of such integrative projects. We then describe our continuous assessment approach: where students earn a weekly mark by demonstrating progress to a teacher as an open presentation to the class. It involves a degree of self and peer assessment and allows for an assessment of group work that is both fair, and seen to be fair.
